CD Project Red, the developers behind the game The Witcher 3 and also the developer behind the upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 said in an interview that making The Witcher 3 have taught them a lot of things about making a huge open world game and that things should be easier now when they work on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.
While things might be easier now that they have more experience with huge open world game, that does not mean that they will be needing less time with the new Cyberpunk 2077. Gamereactor initially predicted that we might get to see the new game later this year but it does not look like that is going to happen.
Not only is this a totally different game but CD Projekt Red also hinted that it could be bigger than The Witcher 3. Based on how much time it took them to finish The Witcher 3, we would be lucky if the game even made it out next year.
