On previous occasions, Google’s smartphones and tablets are considered to be the VIP in the Android world. The Nexus devices are always first to get their hands on new Android update. That status might just die off this time round since both the Android and Nexus creator announced that the update for previous Nexus devices will only be released in the coming weeks.
Unlike Google and all the other phone makers, HTC made it clear by announcing a specific date or time frame its HTC One users can expect for the update to come their way, which is about next week. If the LG Nexus 4, Google Nexus 7 and 10 are not receiving the update as late as this week, then HTC will definitely be win the race on rolling out the KitKat.
Such an event will leave the tech world scratching their head, wondering how the very creator failed to update its own device with its own OS while other brands are able to do otherwise.
It is all not that bad as unpleasant delays often occurs during the final lap of a race. We’ll never know for sure if HTC might face a delay and if there could also be a surprise release from Google. Until then, best you sit tight and keep a lookout for the Android 4.4 KitKat update on your devices.
