Anyone who likes to jailbreak their iOS device has been warned by the team of hackers behind the jailbreak not to go ahead and make the update to iOS 7.1. As with earlier releases of iOS people found out that when they update they can no longer jailbreak their device and the same is happening with the recently released iOS 7.1.
Those that have gone ahead and ignored the warnings and updated are now finding that they have lost their jailbreak and there isn’t an untethered jailbreak available yet for iOS 7.1.
Luckily iOS 7.1 can be downgraded by using iTunes. Owners need to have iTunes and iOS firmware. If you want to downgrade your device you should follow the steps outlined below.
1 .Connect your device (iPhone 4,4S,5,5s,5c) to the computer and launch iTunes (latest version)
2. Boot the device into DFU mode by pressing the Power and Home button simultaneously for about 10seconds. After that, release the Power button only and iTunes will read that the phone is in recovery mode.
3. Hold the shift key on your keyboard and select restore on iTunes. (Alt/Option key for Mac).
4. Select the files downloaded earlier and the installation should commence and complete accordingly.
Many people have said that this does work. However we have to say that we tried to do it and couldn’t. So if you know of any other way of downgrading from iOS 7.1 let us know.
