It looks like game developers are running out of times and events to set their game in. We know Battlefield went back to World War 1 and if you think that was old, you will be shocked to know that the Call of Duty developers nearly brought us back to Ancient Rome.
According to GameRadar, Vicarious Vision was working on a Call of Duty game that never really got off but they did manage to go so far as to create a prototype. The game was originally set to be called Call of Duty: Roman Wars and as the name would suggest, the game would have probably be set in Ancient Rome.
Of course, bringing us that far back in time means that there will be no machine guns and all the other weapons that we have in the current Call of Duty games. GameRadar hinted that the game revolved around catapults and war elephants.
It does sound interesting but sadly, the game did not really make the cut.
