Buying A Used iPhone? Read This First (Checklist)

Buying a used iPhone is one of the best purchasing decision consumers can ever make. This is due to the fact that the iPhones are costly and as they are built with the best quality in mind, it is rare to find a damaged iPhone.

However, there are some things you have to look into before confirming your second-hand iPhone purchase. For starters, do a check on the device’s IMEI or ESN to make sure they are clean. Failure to do so carries a high risk of the iPhone not becoming usable.

Then, you must ensure that the carrier-locked is already removed. Similarly, you must see if it’s not Apple/iCloud activation lock. Again, these are important as there is a huge chance for the iPhone to be unusable.

Now, you can proceed to the smaller checks. For the iPhone 4S and older, use a flashlight and look into the headphone jack. If there is a pink colour, the device must have suffered some water damage.

The same can be applied on the iPhone 5 or higher but it is through the SIM card port. Speaking of which, it will be better if you have a NANO card on hand when purchasing the used iPhone.

Finally, do a last check on call quality, sound, internet connection and battery level. If all is good, then don’t hold back with your purchase. Enjoy your second-hand iPhone.
