The BMW X1 was taken in for testing by IIHS and as expected, the BMW X1 was given the Top Safety Pick Plus rating.
Thanks to the upgrade, the BMW X1 managed to score a Good rating for the small overlap crash test. The last model only receives a Marginal rating costing them their Top Safety Pick Plus safety rating.
To get the top Safety Pick Plus rating, the BMW X1 also had to score at least a Good in the Moderate overlap front, side, head restraint and roof strength test. The safety features on the BMW X1 also helped.
The BMW X1 will come with safety features like cornering brake control, brake dry assist, dynamic traction control, dynamic stability control, assist eCall and TeleService.
Customers will also be offered a long list of optional features like Front Collision Warning, City Collision Mitigation as well as Lane Departure Warning.
