After years of trying to hold on to their Blackberry OS, it looks like Blackberry might finally be ready to let go of their operating system in favor of the popular Android OS.
Last year, Blackberry release their first Android powered Blackberry device called the Blackberry Priv. The device allows users to enjoy all the perks of owning an Android device along with all the security that comes with a Blackberry and as predicted, the devices was a success.
Blackberry CEO hinted at CES that they might only be releasing Android-powered smart devices this year but this is definitely not the end of the Blackberry 10 OS as CNET pointed out that the OS will still be around but Blackberry will not be trying to come out with devices that run on it.
The switch to Android might be the turning point for Blackberry. Following the success of the Blackberry Priv, it has now been announced that the Blackberry Priv will also be heading to Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. We are looking forward to seeing what else Blackberry will have in store for us this year.
