It is finally out! Microsoft has finally selling its Surface 2 tablet and consumers can get it with or without contract.
This latest slate is currently on sale at Microsoft retail stores, MicrosoftStore.com and BestBuy in the US. On the other hand, consumers can head down to AT&T to get the Surface 2 with a plan.
Without a contract, the entry level 64GB Surface 2 tablet costs $679 which is quite hefty for this latest machine from Microsoft. On top of that, the price is quoted for the ARM-based Surface 2 which means that it doesn’t comes with a keyboard or cover.
With an AT&T plan, consumers can get the device for $549. The bad news is that AT&T will not be offering a subsidized contract pricing for the tablet. Of course, taking it with AT&T would mean the LTE version of the slate will be unlocked.
The Surface 2 is expected to compete with the likes of iPad Air and MacBook Air. While the price tag might be huge, Microsoft’s representative revealed that the Surface 2 is a value for money device.
This appears to be true as the Surface 2 is offered with Office, 200GB free cloud storage (OneDrive) and unlimited Skype calling. The slate is built to offer more productivity and this will definitely cater to students and workers alike.
