Doom was first released in 1993 by the id Software, a first-person shooter game that was quite a triumph back then. Good news for Doom die-hard fan, after over 20 years, Doom is now available in 1.5-inch Apple Watch.
John Carmack, the co-founder of the id Software and one of the writers of the original game said that it would be interesting to see how Doom runs on the beta version of watch OS 2, which is released to allow the built-in apps to run on the Apple Watch.
After troubleshooting issues and managing to stuff the game into a small UI, within a few hours, the game is functional and has 3×3 invisible buttons. It is lethargic, but works anyway. After all, it is not a surprise that they can make it.
Before this, Half-Life was also ported to an Android Wear. Who knows, more surprises are coming and maybe we can see more classics revisited like this in the near future.
