Human are like crows. We are all attracted to shiny objects. In today’s scenario, it is the Apple Watch. Many might feel that the upcoming Apple Watch will not sell well due to its ridiculous price of $350.
Then again, Apple is not bothered about selling their products and is more focused about stamping their authority. For years now, Apple has been viewed as a premium tech brand and the Cupertino-based company wants to remind everyone of this by slapping a huge price tag for the Apple Watch.
Even so, the wearables are still going to sell extremely well and this is partly due to the availability of the $10,000 Apple Watch that is made of real gold. With the media constantly buzzing on the $10k watch, it somehow provokes the desire of the consumers to save up and buy the luxury item.
Soon, the consumers will then realize that it is far too expensive and after continuously observing the $10k price tag, they will find the $350 price tag appropriate. As such, the ‘average’ Apple Watch will still sell while all while being viewed as a premium product.
While it might be pretty evil of Apple to adopt such a methodology, it is also very smart. Besides, the $10k watch is giving Apple free advertising in the form of the press.
