However, it might not be a perfect entry for the iWatch as it somewhat resembles the iSwatch from the Swiss brand, Swatch. With the names almost matching each other, the latter is definitely worried and might file a lawsuit against Apple for copyright infringement.
Swatch’s CEO, Nick Hayek, revealed that it is the company’s natural behaviour to be protective of the names of its products. Anything that threatens it will face some actions.
Despite that fact, the name iWatch is already patented in Iceland, Monaco and more recently, Japan. While Swatch might be in the market longer than Apple, the latter is worth $510 billion.
While Apple has yet to confirm the iWatch, the company will still be looking to create its very first wearable. Some reports reveal that Apple will be handing the helm to LexVue Technology for the wearable’s production.
