Apple might have released the iOS 8 but it is going to take a long while before Evad3rs is able to crack the system open. With such expectations, jailbreak fans that are trapped on the iOS 7.1.2 will have to continue waiting for the jailbreak to happen.
For those that are desperate for a jailbreak operating system, there is a way to escape from the iOS 7.1.2 and it is not through upgrading to the iOS 8. Instead, it is true downgrading to the iOS 7.0.4.
One of our readers shared that it is possible to do so and he managed to pull it off with his 64GB iPhone 5S from Verizon, iTunes 11.2.2(3) and OSX 10.9.2. While not everyone shares the same device type, it is still worth to give the method a try.
The process is a rather short and simple one. You will have to plug in the iPhone 5S to the computer. ITunes should show that the device is running on the latest iOS. Once it is fully loaded, you should be able to identify the restore backup option.
Clicking on that will pull out a list of previous backup files and one of the details should say iOS 7.0.4. Select the particular backup and click on continue to proceed with the downgrading. Upon completion, you will notice a lot of files from the old iOS appearing out of place. You can fix this with iPhone Backup Extractor.
Also, it is important to note that you will have to perform the jailbreak all over again. The trouble should be worth it for those who cannot stand the wait any longer.
