Last week, Google updated the latest Lollipop OS, thus, bringing the firmware to Android 5.0.2. Many Android smartphone manufacturers were quick to receive the new Lollipop as they prepare to launch it on their respective devices.
On the other hand, there is the Android One smartphone, which is able to bypass the Android 5.0.2 and enjoy the future Android 5.1 Lollipop right away. Thanks to the newer version, the smartphone from Indonesia is now able to offer tons of extra features like YouTube video downloading.
For consumers from other parts of the world, they find the Android One smartphone to be nothing more than a clone product with hacked softwares. Of course, there has yet to be any evidence to back up this allegation.
On the other hand, there is an industry insider which claims that Google is indeed testing the future OS in Indonesia through the Android One device. If this is true, then it won’t be long before Android 5.1 reach out to mainstream smartphones worldwide.
