LG, HTC, Samsung and Sony have all updated their respective devices to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. Now, it is ASUS’s turn to shine. The tech manufacturer revealed that they have just got verification for the Android 5.0 Lollipop and it will be released to their devices soon.
For the ASUS smartphone users, this is a massive relief. After all, it is already the month of May and they thought that there won’t be any Lollipop update coming.
Apparently, it is not easy for non-mainstream manufacturers to roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop. This is because they have to tweak the OS just so that it can become compatible with the older devices.
For other developers like Oppo, OnePlus and Xiaomi, an industry insider revealed that they are working on the Android 5.1 Lollipop instead. It is understood that the Android 5.0 is full of issues hence they chose to wait until Android 5.1 is ready.
Well, Android 5.1 is now available and the word is that it is being tested by the manufacturers. Soon, Oppo, OnePlus and Xiaomi will all be launching the Android 5.1 OS to their devices. While there may be no release window yet, users can expect the update to arrive before the end of this month.
