Last October, we witnessed the coming of the Android 4.4 KitKat. This latest version OS for smartphones is able to support devices that are low in specs and also old phones that is thought to be outdated.
The Android KitKat has sparked a major move where many phone vendors are plotting a series of updates for most of their devices. Looking at Samsung, it appears that the company is planning the Jellybean 4.2.2 update for old devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 1. At the moment, both phones are stuck at Android 2.3 and ICS.
This is confirmed by a Samsung personnel who also revealed that it will happen in March next month. In addition to that, five devices are being planned for the KitKat update which was first thought out to be the Key Lime Pie Android 5.0.
Other leaks cite that Google is working on an updated Linux kernel 3.8. It is said to offer full NVIDIA Tegra support, Samsung Exynos DRM drivers, flash support, File-system support and a lower memory footprint.
