The update to Android 4.4.2 has been out for some time and makers of handsets are still handing out the update for devices. However there has been a lot of confusion about which handsets will get updated.
It seems that the uncertainty is with devices belonging to Microsoft, Sony and Motorola. Motorola owners are able to relax as they are set to update the Moto X phone, this is for those with the AT&T device.
Then we turn our attention to the Xperia and Sony handsets. The Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and the Xperia Z Ultra are all to get the update and we know this as there has been confirmation from the official Sony blog. It is thought that the update will roll out between Q1 and Q2 of this year. Sony is then going to send out the update for other handsets, such as the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2.
So what about Samsung handsets? Well the Samsung Galaxy S3 will suffer a delay and Samsung Saudi Arabia said that they cancelled the update. Samsung Poland has also denounced the update. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 could get the update in selected countries, but those who own the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are to be updated.
So it does look as though there are many twists and turns for the KitKat 4.4.2 update, but let’s hope it won’t be too long before things clear up.
