[ALERT] Wirefly Shuts Down, Phone Customers Left Dazed & Confused

Wifely, along with the parent company, Simplexity, have closed up shop abruptly within the past 24 hours leaving customers confused and dazed. A reader recently bought the Droid Maxx from them and is waiting for the handset to arrive, but found that he could not check the status of it. He then went over to their Facebook page, as the website had been taken down and came across comments from other customers and affiliated who were worried too. Replies from Wirefly about his order said that they had gone bankrupt and would be issuing him with a refund.

Wirefly used to offer wireless phones for rockbottom prices and many people who wanted a cheap handset used them. However not before reading the smallprint and adhering to strict rules which they set out.

So the website is now offline and the contact number says that they are closed if you call it. When making a search for Simplexity on Twitter and Google+ it shows results from employees who have been mourning the loss of their jobs. There are also mentions of them shutting up shop but there hasn’t been anything official. One employee had the following to say.

“Good morning, Simplexity Friends. Yesterday we suffered a shock and – let’s be clear – an injustice. Today we have to make our way in the world where that happened. So let’s talk about how we will do that.

Everybody says we need to treat job-hunting like a job. But what does that mean? Put hours per day into it, sure, but how? Everybody who’s ever worked knows that it’s possible to put hours per day into something productively, and hours per day into something unproductively.”

So it looks as though they have met a sticky end and anyone who has placed an order with them should keep their fingers crossed that they get a refund.
