There were already talks about Volvo working on a Volvo XC40 model and now, new reports are saying that it might be the first model to come with an all-new CMA platform.
According to Henrik Green, the Research and Development Chief, the XC40 will be the first model to use the new CMA platform by Volvo. He also added that the vehicle will be arriving sometime this fall. Green also reveal that the basic development for the XC40 has already been completed.
The new Volvo XC40 will be design based on the Concept 40.1 and Concept 40.2. The new vehicle will be sitting below the Volvo XC60 and XC90 model and will come in to compete with models like the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
There is not a whole lot of detail about the upcoming Volvo XC40 so all we can do now is wait until Volvo is ready to give us more.
