It seems like if you do not go turbo, you will be losing out now. The Toyota Camry has so far managed to stay away from the turbo engine but with their biggest rival, the Honda Accord offering a turbo engine right now, some people seems to believe that the Camry will also be forced to go down that route when the 2018 model arrives.
We do not know if the Accord will really be coming with a Turbo engine but it is believed that the Accord might be riding on the same platform as the Honda Civic. If that is true, we won’t be surprised if it ends up getting the same engine as well.
The Honda Civic is currently powered by a 1.5-liter turbo four engine. The Honda Accord with the new engine should be able to offer their customers a better fuel economy.
It is believed that Toyota plans to match that by offering their Toyota Camry with a 2.0-liter turbo four engine and that it will come riding on the TNGA platform just like the Prius.
