We know that the upcoming 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be coming in with a new design, new tech, new engine and more but most of the details have not been released yet but this new rumor might give us an insight as to what the Jeep Wrangler will be offering under the hood when it arrives.
It has been reported that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler could be coming in with a 3.0-liter diesel engine that will be offering about 420lb ft of torque. This is the same EcoDiesel engine that Ram is currently using to power up their Ram 1500.
Not only will the Wrangler be getting a powertrain upgrade but it will also be shedding some extra pounds thanks to lighter materials like aluminum. According to Alcoa, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be getting an aluminum hood as well as an aluminum inner structure. While it might help with the fuel economy of the vehicle, some consumers were not too happy that they made the door lighter because the lighter doors will mean that they will have to slam the Wrangler door even harder now.
