The Jeep Wrangler will come with a long list of upgrades. That will include getting a new design, a lighter body and new features and tech. While it is believed that the Wrangler should be coming in with a powertrain upgrade, nobody really knows what Jeep has planned for the Jeep Wrangler in terms of powertrain.
New reports are now suggesting that Jeep could be looking at the Ram 1500 for help this time around. It is believed that the EcoDiesel engine that Ram is offering on the 1500 model right now could make its way to the Jeep Wrangler.
If that is true, we would be seeing a 3.0-liter diesel engine under the hood. The Ram 1500 engine is capable of offering about 420lb ft of torque.
There were also talks about Jeep possibly giving the 2018 Jeep Wrangler a set of doors with an aluminum inner structure as well as an aluminum hood and that should significantly reduce the overall weight of the Wrangler.
