Those looking for a fun performance car to drive used to have more options but with Mazda backing out of the market a few years ago, their fans will be forced to run into the arms of Honda and their upcoming 2018 Honda Civic Type-R.
The new Honda Civic Type R will be based on the 10th-gen Honda Civic Hatchback model although it is said that Honda will be toning it down so that it will look more discreet.
It was also reported that the 2018 model will be getting an upgraded interior as well so future buyers can expect the interior to come fitted with better quality materials.
According to Auto Express, we can expect to see a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 340hp and 331lb ft of torque. Honda will be showing off their Civic Hatchback at the Paris Auto Show so we should have an idea of what is to come then.
Looking at the success of the Honda Civic Type-R right now Mazda probably had wished that they still had their MazdaSpeed 3 to compete with the Civic Type R.
