Here we have the Nissan Leaf and the Toyota Prius. Who do you think will win the fight? The Toyota Prius was just given a full update, does it older Nissan Leaf have what it takes to take on the Prius?
The Nissan Leaf will be running on an electric engine that will be delivering about 126mpg in the city and 101mpg on the highway. The engine will be mated to a 1-speed direct drive transmission and will come with features like heated seats, Bluetooth connection and more. The Leaf will also come with safety features like stability control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring and more.
The Toyota Prius, on the other hand, will come 1.8 liters inline 4 engine that will be delivering about 121hp. The base model will be getting a 1.2kWh powered electric engine. The Toyota Prius will be returning about 44mpg in the city and 40mpg ion the highway. While that is far from what the Leaf has to offer, bear in mind that you won’t have to sit around and wait for the Prius to charge up.
The Nissan Leaf base model will retail for $31,875 while the 2017 Toyota Prius will retail for $26,675.
