Last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show was electrifying thanks to Opel Monza Concept which is powered by an electric motor that is supported by a petrol mill. Of course, the study is meant to be something for the distant future but not its name.
It appears that the Monza badge will be used on a different vehicle which Opel will be producing very soon from now. The company is planning to create an SUV that will be their flagship vehicle and it will be called the Monza.
The SUV is tipped to come with a brand new styling that is inspired by the previous Monza Concept. Among the features taken are chrome detailing on the grille and identical headlights and air inlets. The upcoming Monza is built on the same platform as the Buick and it will be powered by Insignia’s engines.
The Monza SUV will be mass-produced in 2017 and will be sold with a starting price of $35,906. This makes the vehicle more expensive than the Insignia.
