Now that Mazda has already upgraded both the Mazda 3 and the Mazda 6, their fans are hoping that the MazdaSpeed 3 and the MazdaSpeed 6 will be next but so far, Mazda has never hinted that they are working on a new Mazdaspeed model.
While it does make sense that the performance should follow after the upgrade, other also thinks that this might not be the right time for Mazda to bring the performance model in. We know that performance sedans like the Subaru WRX STi have not been doing great in the market.
Many believe that it is because consumers are not as interested in performance sedan now. That might also be the reason why Mazda is taking their own sweet time with the MazdaSpeed upgrade. It is believed that if Mazda does start working on a new Mazdaspeed model, it will be fitted with a 2.5-liter turbo four engine from the CX-9.
