Both the Honda CR-V and the Mazda CX-5 are some of the best selling SUV models in the market right now but it looks like Honda might have more trouble sleeping at night compared to the Mazda CX-5.
With what both these model has to offer, it is a little surprising that their price would be so close to each other. Mazda has just revealed the new price for the 2017 Mazda CX-5. The US base model will now retail for $24,985. We know that the Honda CR-V base model also starts from $25k but with everything the Mazda CX-5 will have to offer, things are not looking good for Honda.
The Mazda CX-5 will be coming in with a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine that will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission. Just as the fans feared, the Mazda CX-5 will not be getting a manual transmission. The engine will be offering 187hp and 185lb ft of torque.
The 2017 model will come with a few new features including the LED headlights, Smart City Brake Support, G-Vectoring control, reclining second-row seat and that is just the base model.
Should Honda be worried now?
