Before we got to see what the 2017 Mazda CX-5 was all about, people were saying that Mazda is looking to release the Mazda CX-5 as a premium model and that we will the Mazda CX-5 coming in with a higher price tag.
Even though we still do not know how much the Mazda CX-5 will retail for here in the US, we do know how much Mazda plans to offer it in Japan. According to Mazda, the Mazda CX-5 will retail for $20,800 in Japan.
The price will not be the same here in the US but it would not stray too far from the Japanese model. That confirms that the Mazda CX-5 will not arrive as a premium model this year but that does not mean it will not be a premium model in the future.
The new 2017 Mazda CX-5 will be coming in with a 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G engine that will be delivering about 155PS and 196Nm of torque. The engine will also be mated to a six-speed auto transmission. Mazda will also be offering a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a 2.2-liter diesel engine.
