All eyes were on the new Mazda CX-9 and its new engine. To make sure the Mazda CX-5 does not get overshadowed by all of that, Mazda made sure the Mazda CX-5 that is coming to the US will have something to call its own.
The Mazda CX-9 might have a new and more powerful engine to show off but the Mazda CX-5 has a diesel engine to offer and too many, that is even more impressive. We know that automakers have been trying to avoid offering diesel-powered models here in the US after the Volkswagen scandal but Mazda saw this as a great opportunity to bring in their diesel-powered Mazda CX-5.
Mazda announces that the 2017 Mazda CX-5 will be coming in with a 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D engine along with two other gasoline when it arrives next year. While this is not the engine upgrade that the fans were hoping for, the fans still seem to be pretty pleased with it.
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 will be released in February 2017.
