There is o doubt that the Mazda 6 is one of the best-looking models in the market right now but as amazing as it looks, the fans were hoping that the Mazda 6 will pack a little more punch when the upgraded 2017 arrives. Well, it looks like that wish might not be coming true.
While Mazda does have a new engine to offer right now, the new engine will most likely not make it onto the Mazda 6. The new engine was unveiled when they announce the new Mazda CX-9. The 2.3 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine will be delivering about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.
According to Mazda, the engine was designed to fit into the other Mazda models including the Mazda 3, Mazda 6 and Mazda CX-5 but that does not mean that these models will be coming with one.
Since getting the Mazda 6 to run on the new engine will mean more testing and modification, it does not feel like the Mazda will be able to get the engine ready in time for the release of the Mazda 6.
