Mazda has not shown us what they plan to do with the Mazda 3 but they did reveal the upgrades that the Mazda Axela will be getting. For those that might not know it, the Mazda Axela is the Japanese version of our Mazda 3 which means any upgrade the Axela gets will most likely make it onto the Mazda 3 as well.
Brochure of the Mazda Axela has leaked ahead of the reveal but we got to learn more about the Axela when Mazda officially took the covers off the Mazda Axela in Japan. The Mazda Axela was not given a full makeover but they did make some changes to the exterior to give it a fresh new look.
The Mazda Axela was fitted with a new grille and headlight. The bumper has been modified and it will now come with a set of turning lights as well.
Under the hood is a 1.5 liter SkyActiv-D diesel. Other options include the 1.5 liter SkyActiv-G petrol engine, a 2.2-liter diesel as well as a Skyactiv Hybrid petrol-electric engine.
