Kia is working to start giving some of the Kia models the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay update. The models that will be getting the upgrades are those fitted with a navigation system or the UVO3 system.
Models that should be getting the update for free later this month will include the 2017 Kia Forte, the 2015 – 2016 Kia Optima and Optima Hybrid, the 2015 -2016 Kia Sedona, 2014 -2016 Kia Soul, 2017 Kia Sportage as well as the 2016 Kia Sorento.
Car owners that will be getting the upgrade will be contacted by Kia via email. Owners will be asked to register at myuvo.com and from there, they will receive directions on how to upgrade their Kia to get the latest update.
The update will allow driver and Kia users to gain access to new functions like the Google Play music, and Google Maps for the Android users. They can also make calls and receive messages with the system.
