Most people seems to believe that the Volkswagen Golf R will not have what it takes to take on the Ford Focus RS but is that really the case? Well, the guys that Motor Trend has decided to test it out for real but setting these two models up for a head to head battle.
On paper, it definitely looked like the Ford Focus RS might have a slight advantage. The Ford Focus RS comes in with a 2.3-liter turbo I-4 engine that will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine will be offering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. The base model will not retail for $36,775.
The Volkswagen Golf R, on the other hand, will come with a 2.0 liter DOHC I-4 engine that will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine will deliver about 292hp and 280lb ft of torque. The base model will retail for $36,470.
