While the rest of the world gets to enjoy the Ford Ranger, the people over in the US can only stare and admire it from afar but that should be changing real soon as Ford will be hatching out a plan to have the Ford Ranger compete with the Chevrolet Colorado and Toyota Tacoma here in the US.
The rumor started after spies spotted the Ford Ranger getting tested in the US. The truck will be coming in to sit below the Ford F-150 truck. It is believed that the Ford Ranger will be coming in with a 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel engine that should be as efficient as the trucks in the market right now. It is believed that production might start in 2017.
There were also rumors about Ford looking to build a new Ford Bronco alongside the Ford Bronco. It is said that the Ford Bronco SUV will be built based on the Ranger and that production will start one year after the Ford Ranger.
We have not heard from Ford yet so take this news with a grain of salt.
