It looks like we are going from being assisted by the vehicle to letting the vehicle take full control as Chrysler introduces their fully autonomous Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid model.
The fully autonomous Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will be fitted with a bunch of sensors and computer from Waymo or Google self-driving car project. To make sure the vehicle is able to run with Waymo’s tech, Chrysler had to make a few crucial changes to the electrical and structural system of the Pacifica hybrid.
There will be a total of 100 of these fully autonomous Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid models around and according to FCA, the fully autonomous vehicle will be ready to join Waymo’s self-driving fleet early next year.
