The Toyota Prius has always been on the top in the green car market but it looks like the Chevrolet Cruze is thinking about giving it a run for their money.
Chevrolet was at the Detroit Auto Show this year and according to Automotive News, Mark Ruess and Mike Siegrist from Chevrolet reported that the Chevrolet Cruze Diesel model EPA rating will start with a 5.
We know that the previous model was offering about 44mpg on the highway so the new model could be even more fuel efficient. The vehicle will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine that will be mated to a nine-speed auto transmission. The engine should be offering about 136hp and 136lb ft of torque.
The base model will retail for $24,670. We are still waiting for Chevrolet to release more details about the upcoming Chevrolet Cruze which should be arriving this spring.
