The BMW X3, X4, X5, and X6 will all be affected by the latest BMW recall although not all of them will be heading back for the same reason.
BMW issued two recall. The first recall will affect the BMW X3 and X4. These models were recalled after it was reported that the lower child-seat anchor bar on these vehicles might get damaged if they were used with the European-type ISOFIX connectors. Affected models will include 2011 to 2017 model. According to BMW, a total of 188,668 units will be affected by this recall.
To fix them, BMW will weld on a reinforcing bracket onto the lower anchor bar.
The second recall will affect the BMW X5 and X6. These models were recalled after it was discovered that the universal joint on the front driveshaft might have a leaking issue where water and debris can slip in to damage the front driveshaft.
According to BMW, models from 2011 until 2017 will be affected by the recall. The total number of BMW X5 and X6 affected is at 21,493units. Affected models will be getting their front driveshaft replaced for free.
