A lawsuit was filed against Audi accusing them of using a defeat device to manipulated the CO2 emission of the vehicle under certain condition. The lawsuit listed a few models that might be fitted with the defeat device and one of them might be the Audi Q5.
The Audi Q5 comes running on a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine. It is believed that 5 other models running on the same engine might also be fitted with the defeat device. The models that were listed includes the Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q5, Audi Q7 and more.
This lawsuit came days after reports of Audi using a software to detect when the vehicle is being tested for emission. It is believed that the software will modify the system to that the CO2 output is lower when it detect that it is being tested.
We do not know Audi is guilty just yet but after the whole Volkswagen scandal, a lot of people are saying that they won’t be surprised if the allegations end up being true.
