We know that Acura is working on the new 2017 Acura NSX but it looks like they might not end with just the 2017 Acura NSX standard version as they hint that we might be seeing a few more variant in the future.
According to Jason Bilotta, the chief engineer of the Acura NSX, the new bespoke platform that the NSX is riding on was made so that it can be used on more than one version. He added that it was designed to be used as a scalable platform right from the start which means the NSX can easily be based on another version if they wish to do so.
Of course, this is far from a confirmation but it does hint that the Acura NSX might not be the only NSX model we see in the future. Jason Bilotta added that it will all depend on how the market response to the NSX.
While he did not drop any hints about the other models they are considering, some people speculated that we might see a Type R in the future.
