If you are looking for a good off-roader, both the Toyota 4Runner and the Toyota Tacoma are excellent choices. Ultimately, it will all have to depend on what you are looking for.
While you will find the Toyota 4Runner more spacious, the connecting truck bed does not seem to be sitting well with some of the consumers. The 4Runner will be powered by a 270hp engine that will be returning about 17mpg in the city and 22mpg on the highway.
The Toyota Tacoma, on the other hand, will come in with a 159hp to 278hp engine option. The Tacoma will also return about 19mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway. Not only is the Tacoma slightly more fuel efficient but consumers seems to also prefer its separate truck bed since they can pack up their dirty gear without worrying if it is going to mess up the rest of the vehicle.
The Toyota 4Runner will retail for $33,810 while the Tacoma will retail for $23,660.
