It looked like it was going to be a bad year for Toyota and their Prius when they first showed it off last year. The Prius looked very different but not in a good way and the fans were not too happy about the new design with many of them saying that the Prius looked way too aggressive and ugly.
Things did look bleak then but it looks like everything will turn out for the better for the Toyota Prius now that the EPA numbers for the hybrid model are out. Showing a huge improvement from the previous model, the fans will soon forget about the ugly exterior and focus on the fuel efficiency the car will have to offer.
According to Toyota, the standard Toyota Prius will be offering about 54mpg in the city and 50mpg on the highway. Toyota will also be offering an Eco model which will return about 58mpg in the city and 53mpg on the highway.
