Well, nobody can be on the top forever. The Subaru WRX STi used to be on the top their slow progress rate meant that their rivals had more than enough time to catch up and now, it looks like it might be left behind when new models like the Ford Focus RS arrives.
The Subaru WRX STi first came in with a 300hp engine and now, years after its release, the current Subaru WRX STi delivers only about 305hp and 290lb ft if torque.
The Ford Focus RS, on the other hand, will come in with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. The Ford Focus RS will also be more fuel efficient, returning about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. The Subaru WRX STI, on the other hand, will return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway.
The new Ford Focus RS will only need 4.6 seconds to go from 0-60mph with a top speed of 165mph while the Subaru WRX STi will need 4.7seconds with a top speed of 159mph.
