With what we are about to get now, it does feel like the Subaru WRX STi is not trying hard enough to impress us.
The current Subaru WRX STi will be powered by a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 305hp. The engine will also be returning about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway.
Things do not look so bad on its own but if you compare to the first WRX STi ever release, it is clear that Subaru has been taking things easy. The first Subaru WRX STi which was released back in 2004 came with a 300hp engine.
The fuel economy is also nowhere near as impressive as what some of the newer models are offering right now. Subaru will have to work harder if they plan to compete with new models like the Ford Focus RS.
