Subaru has already launched the WRX and it became the subject of criticism for the masses. The fans, in particular, were gutted to learn that the WRX they have been waiting for isn’t anything like the concept that was unveiled a year ago.
The Japanese carmaker realized the mistake they made and are looking to correct their ways with the upcoming XV Crosstrek and the Impreza. Subaru’s chief designer, Mamoru Ishii revealed that the future vehicles, particularly the Impreza, will have a design that is taken to a new direction and excite the marketplace.
In detail, Ishii explains that the company will be giving the Impreza a wider hip line on the car’s lower section. Also, the vehicle will have a more substantial stance and narrow up roof section. This will surely make the Impreza looking like the WRX concept. The latter had a lower chassis and a tapered greenhouse.
Ishii concluded by saying that the Impreza will be built on Subaru’s new modular chassis framework called the Subaru Global Platform. The architecture will also be the direction for all Subaru vehicles coming in 2016.
