Thanks to all the upgrades, the 2016 Mazda CX-9 will now be taken smaller sips now. Mazda did say that the Mazda CX-9 will be more fuel efficient. The question was how much more.
Before the EPA results were announced, NRCan did a test on the Mazda CX-9 and concluded that the Mazda CX-9 will be 35% better than before when it comes to fuel economy. Soon after the results announced, Mazda stepped out to announce the EPA rating of the Mazda CX-9.
According to Mazda, the front wheel drive model will return about 22mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive model, on the other hand, will return about 21mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. That means the upgraded Mazda CX-9 will be 32% more fuel efficient than before.
The Mazda CX-9 will be running on a 2.5 liter SkyActiv-G turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 250hp and 310lb ft of torque.
