The new 2016 Lincoln MKX was taken in by IIHS to get tested and unsurprisingly, the Lincoln MKX crushed the test.
The Lincoln MKX manage to score a Good for the moderate overlap front, side, head restraint, and roof strength test. Unlike the previous model, this model was also given a small overlap test. Along with the airbag test and additional safety features, the Lincoln MKX managed to score a Top Safety Pick + rating. To get those rating, the vehicle must receive a Good rating for all five crash test and Advanced or Superior for the front crash prevention system.
The 2016 Lincoln MKX will also come with an optional front crash prevention system which would help the car avoid front crashes of up tp 25mph. The system also helps the MKX earn the prestigious safety ratings.
