After looking at what the Subaru WRX STI has to offer right now and comparing that to the Ford Focus RS, it is clear that the Ford Focus RS is the winner here and Subaru only have themselves to blame.
The performance model started out strong but things started slowing down pretty fast. While the Subaru WRX STI did get a few upgrades here and there, the output of the vehicle are only slightly better now and that rival like the Ford Focus RS won’t find it that hard to catch up.
The current Subaru WRX STI comes in with a 305hp engine with 290lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission and will return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway.
The Ford Focus RS, on the other hand, will be powered by a 2.0 liter inline 4 engine that will be delivering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. The engine will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and will return about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway.
