Things are not going to get easier for Subaru WRX STi now that Ford has announced that they will be offering the Ford Focus RS here in the US. Who do you think will win if these two were to up against each other?
The Ford Focus RS will be coming in with a 2.0 liter inline 4 engine that will be delivering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque and will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Focus RS should be returning about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. The Focus RS will need 4.6seconds to go from 0-60mph with a top speed of 165mph.
The Subaru WRX STi, on the other hand, will come running on a 305hp engine with 290lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission and will be returning about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway. The WRX STi will need 4.7seconds to go from 0-60mph with a top speed of 159mph.
The Ford Focus RS base model will retail for $36,605 while the Subaru WRX STi will retail for $35,490.
