Subaru went from the top to the same level as the other performance model in the market and it looks like it might soon be trailing behind as automakers like Ford comes out with even more impressive models like the Ford Focus RS.
The current Subaru WRX STI will be powered by a 305hp engine with 290lb ft of torque. The engine will also be returning about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway. The WRX STi will need about 4.7 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of 159mph. While it is not bad, it is not the best either especially after you take into consideration the fact that the Subaru WRX STi delivered about 300hp when it first arrived.
The Ford Focus RS, on the other hand, will come in with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be pushing out about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. The Ford Focus RS will return about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway and will only need 4.6 seconds to go from a standstill to 60mph with a top speed of 165mph.
The Subaru WRX STi will retail for $35,490 while the Ford Focus RS will retail for $36,605.
