Not only will the Subaru WRX STi be at a disadvantage when it comes to exterior design but it will also be trailing behind the Ford Focus RS in terms of performance and features as well.
The Ford Focus RS will be coming in with a new exterior design with improved aerodynamics. Besides that, it will also be powered by a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. The Subaru WRX STi, on the other hand, will come with a 305hp engine with 290lb ft of torque.
The Ford Focus RS should be returning about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway while the Subaru WRX STI will return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway, another win for Ford.
According to Ford, the Ford Focus RS will need 4.6 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of 165mph. The Subaru WRX STi will need 4.7seconds and has a top speed of only 159mph.
On top of all of that, the Focus RS will come with some additional features like the new Drift mode. The Focus RS will retail for $36,605 while the Subaru WRX STi will retail for $35,490.
