Come 2016, Chevrolet will be launching the second-generation Volt. It is already confirmed by the American carmaker but no details were spilled as of yet. Chevy teased that the first batch of information will only be released in the Detroit Auto Show next year.
Well, there seems to be no point in waiting for the annual motoring event since Chevrolet’s parent company, General Motors, wishes for things to remain hidden, even when it is merely a concept.
The company wants to hide all the core information of the upcoming Volt but at the same time, they wish to vehicle fully, without any interference from the masses.
GM’s camouflage designer, Lionel Perkins, revealed that the only way to curb spy shots is to turn the concept Volt into a shoebox when it is running some test on the road. The lad added that the only way for his team to work is if the engineer finalized the measurement and shaped of the vehicle.
At the moment, GM has a wide array of camouflage. There is that commonly used black and white wrappers, 3D skin, Swirls and Bubble wrap.
Perkins concluded that the camouflage varies between models. He described his team as the fashion designer for the model. Each model needs its own perfect dress that fits its body.
